EXTREME IRONING

If you find house chores are too boring, extreme ironing might be the right sport for you to try. This sport was started in 1997 by Leicester man, Philip Shaw, when he decided to do his ironing in the back garden. Shaw came home from what he recalls as a hard day in Leicester knitwear factory. Thinking about an evening out rock climbing, Shaw got an idea to combine the two activities and convert it into a new extreme sport. Since then, extreme ironing has developed into a sport which might sound weird, yet has attracted many people from all over the world.

Extreme ironing is an extreme sport where people take an ironing board to a remote location and they have to iron items of clothing. It is the latest extreme sport which combining thrills and extreme outdoor activity where the contestants have to prepare a well-pressed shirt. The most challenging part in this sport is when the contestants do not have to right to choose the location of where the ironing process will take place. The obstacles might be ironing on a mountainside, preferably on a difficult climb, ironing underwater, snowboarding and might involve canoeing.

How about ironing while flying in the sky?

For those outside who really love extreme sports, extreme ironing might be a great sport to try on and challenge yourself with the endless thrills while ironing !

It is not as easy as we could imagine when
ironing process has to be done while cycling.
