INDIAN AND KABADDI GAME

Indian and Kabaddi game is inseparable. Kabaddi is essentially an Indian game which possess impressive popularity among Indian as well as people from other sides of world. In India, kabaddi is known in a few different names. People in the southern parts of India called it as Chedugudu or Hu-Tu-Tu while in eastern India, this game is referred to Hadudu (for men) and Kit-Kit (for women). The game is known as Kabaddi in northern India.

Kabaddi game requires team work to excel in playing it.

When playing this game, some basic skills are needed in order to play it well such as breath control, raid, dodging (to trick the opponents) and movement of hand and feet. Player of this game has to acquire power and learn both offensive and defensive skills in order to excel in the game which combines the characteristics of rugby and wrestling. Kabaddi is a combative team game which is played on a rectangular court, either out-doors or indoors with seven players on the ground for each side.

The basic idea of the game is to score as many points as they could by raiding into the opponents court and touch as many defence players as possible without getting caught on a single breath. When playing the game, the players on the defensive side are called "Antis" while the player of the other side is called "Raider". The antis that has been touched by the Raider during the attack are declared "out". Yoga, the Indian science to control body and mind through meditation and self-control plays an integral part of Kabaddi. The raider has to enter the opponent's court chanting the word "Kabaddi" while holding his breath and has to continue to do so until he returns to his home court.

Kabaddi can be played by both genders without any gender bias.

Kabaddi is a very challenging game to be played even though it can be really challenging in some ways as it involves two games in one time : rugby and wrestling. However if you are looking for something new and fresh to try, let's try it out !
